I came across a math IA that was investigating the probability to qualify for the most important swimming meet for their age group. The IA consisted of 11 results (for swimming 50 meters) collected for data and use mean, standard deviation and normal distribution to determine whether average time is similar to particular age group. What is required to investigate this idea in depth? What is to be taken into consideration to answer the probability section?
