Planning within each of the business functions has a different purpose and form. To provide you with examples of what these might look like, and to help you develop your knowledge about plans you are going to select a sample business plan from this site.

Choose an organisation that you find interesting and Review all of the information in your selected business plan and then identify the parts of the plan (by either title) that address the keybusiness functionsof:

1. Management
2. Accounting
3. Marketing
4. Operations; and
5. Compliance & risk

Be specific and explain how they relate to each function. For example, the start-up costs summary would be part of the accounting function as it deals with the financial status and capability of the organisation.

Identify any parts of the plan that you felt didn't come under the five key functions and suggest what they could be categorised as and why you think this new category should be included as a key business function.
