You have been hired to come into a manufacturing organization, analyze their data needs and concerns. After 3 weeks, you will present to the Board of Directors a complete plan (including pricing) to implement in order to aid the organization dive into the 21^st century.

Background:

Midsize manufacturing company. 150 employees.

Current IT system is ~8-10 years old (depending on items concerned)

Basic web page. (Customers are asking about how to order online)

Current execs (~20) have laptops, but cannot log into company computer system from home.

Servers are 10 years old. Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 32 bit. All data stored on site on 4 SCSI hard drives.

Current IT staff is 4 people to help with laptops, servers, help desk, everything.

25 Administrative staff have desktops with 17 CRT monitors. No computers on the manufacturing floor.

Plan needs to be submitted, in its entirety, by Wednesday, December 7^th, 11:59 pm. Late designs will not be considered. All plans must be submitted in a formal business document, with prices, costs, and specific items listed.

A typical proposal would be 25-30 pages, including charts, spreadsheets, table of contents, pagination, etc.

Remember, this is a consultants proposal that you would be getting paid WELL to produce!
