I dont believe that Chilquila would have changed their practices without the presence of the damaging stories in the media. In the second paragraph of the case study, Chiquita's past is described as cold, uncaring, indifferent and lacking innovation. Chiquita's old management didn't care about their public image and they only cared about the bottom line which is profit. Their old management style was ineffective and it left them with a demoralized workforce
