As we know, the federal government operates under the FASAB, but this article goes a step further in the accountability of this board. Weinberg (2014) states since the federal government operates under accounting principles established by this board, the government gets to decide its own limits and hidden liabilities make it impossible for citizens to hold their elected officials accountable (para. 9, 12).
