Draw arrows representing its instantaneous velocity, acceleration and force(s) exerted on the ball by other objects at the three positions shown on the diagram: (You should have to define symbols/variables used.) I. Application experiment: Estimate the launch speed Available equipment: PASCO launcher and ball, meter stick, c-clamp, masking tape, paper, carbon paper. (i) Our goal is to find the launch speed of the ball at the third setting (hardest setting) of the PASCO launcher. (Push the ball in until you hear the third click.) You can use the c-clamp to secure the launcher to your lab table. You could use the launcher to project the ball vertically upward. (ii) Draw a clearly labeled sketch of your experimental setup. Record the data in the table (Just a reminder, you will repeat the experiment at least for 3 trials. Why is repetition of an experiment important?) (iii) Describe your experiment (Procedure). Make sure that stop-watch will not be used to record time; instead of that, you may have to use kinematic equations.
