I have 1 Independent variable (2 levels Type of insurance State or commercial) and my dependent variable being length of stay which would be continuous. I'm stuck with what type of test I should use. t-test or one way ANOVA. I think either one would work but not certain if one would be better than the other. The independent variable is not randomly assigned and the data will be collected through archival means.
