As you reflect on your education and work path thus far in your life, consider the impact of your education and how you will continue to learn throughout your life, not just in the classroom but on the job, in training, workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities. Using at least one Internet search engine, research and gather the finer details for two open positions in your geographic area; one should be a position that you can obtain now with your Associates Degree in Accounting, the other should be a "reach" goal position--something that you might need some more experience, education, or time in the industry to obtain. Learn more about the general requirements and expectations of careers using the Occupational Outlook Handbook: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/ or O*NET OnLine: https://www.onetonline.org/. While conducting your research, take notes about your process, including the search engine you used, your search terms and phrases, and the ways you narrowed your search results to your specific field and region. Once you have located the requirements of these two positions, create a table in Microsoft Word that includes the following information: Name of employer Title of position Location of position Pay rate or range Prior experience requests or requirements Accounting specific skills required Transferable skills required Certifications required Once you have completed the table, address the following questions in the Word document below your table. Through your research and efforts last week, you've been offered and accepted a position as a staff accountant at ABC Tax & Accounting Service. As a public accountant, you will work with many clients and organizations every day. This requires a number of skills, including time management, communication, information literacy, digital fluency, and teamwork, along with accounting knowledge and skills. In this new position, you have a number of duties and clients you are responsible for. After a long weekend, you arrive to the office on Monday morning, April 11th, to the communications and issues in this document. Your research of Bob's Form 1040 tax return for this year reveals that Bob is a single, selfemployed individual with no dependents who shows an adjusted gross income of $52,300 on his tax return filed two weeks ago. Email notification received at 8:46am that the staff meeting scheduled for 9:00am today has been moved to 10:00am. During the staff meeting, another call is left on your voicemail from William Knoll.
