I have a hypothetical set of numbers. The numbers are API calls response time in milliseconds. APIs topic is irrelevant here. Just know these numbers are a time in milliseconds. There are 24 numbers for each hour in the day. To explain: The 95th percentile response time numbers are by hour. It is to say in one hour, 95% of all these calls in 60 minutes were a response time of X milliseconds or less. For example, in the 2:00:00 hour, 95% of all API calls were 789 ms or less.

What I need to know is how to accurately get a measure of central tendency for one day/ month/ year, etc. I do not need the number, but how to do it. Should I take another percentile of percentiles? The mean? The median? The mode?

On paper and excel would be great! Thank you!
