I have an area in the town where I live where traffic lights are timed in the same way. I always get annoyed when I get to the first one and it is red, as there is no traffic in the area. I have not timed the lights, but one variable is my speed--as I approach the red light, I do slow down in hopes it will turn green, then I speed up to get through the second light. Probability? I usually do not make it!
