As a former military firefighter, I have had a lot of different experiences with problematic communication barriers. An example of this would be that we often change station leaders depending on the work shift. Some people within the leadership like to have a more laid-back form of leadership meaning that you can be as relaxed and comfortable as you like when communicating with some leaders. However, other leaders would like you to keep the workplace as professional as possible and only to address higher leadership when necessary and if this is not respected then there could be possible punishments
