I have an assumption that Floridians drive faster than Non-Floridians, on average. To see if I am correct, I solicited the help of the Highway Patrol one day. I sat with an officer, and we used a radar gun to measure the speeds of 31 randomly selected Floridian drivers and 31 randomly selected Non-Floridan drivers on a stretch of Alligator Alley (Part of I-75). We found that our sample of Floridian drivers had an average speed of 90 mph with a standard deviation of 20. Our sample of Non-Floridian drivers had an average speed of 73 MPH with a standard deviation of 6.
