I have found that online applications are a good way to apply for jobs, however, once the online application is completed, many companies still want you to upload your cover letter and resume, educational transcripts, and reference letter. It just seems to me like double work. It would seem that this process would weed out person/job mismatches, and streamline the applicants to be interviewed.
