I have some doubts Interpreting Question 2 of my task on SPSS --> Which method should be chosen?

QUESTION:

A large supermarket chain wants to test (1) if their customers spend more money when paying with credit or debit card rather than when paying in cash, and (2) if this potential effect of payment method depends on the product category (food versus non-food).

Data

Data was collected of 3000 isolated transactions (see Canvas for the dataset spending.sav). For each of these transactions, the following information was registered:

• Whether the transaction was paid in cash (=3) or with debit (=2) or credit (=1) card (PAYMETHOD);
• The total amount of money spent on food products (FOOD).
• The total amount of money spent on non-food products (NONFOOD).
