My Flamboyant Grandson is a short story that takes place in Oneonta New York, in 2002. The narrator talked about how they were in New York, but really did not make the whole story aboutthe setting. The aspect of the setting he emphasizes the part where they were from Oneonta and how he didn't understand what his grandson was there instead of going to New York, to see a show. The settingdid notmake a huge influence on the conflict the location being in America, a technology advanced country influenced it because the narrator mentioned how he didn't understandhow if someonedoesnot want something it was supposed to be and an American thing not to force it upon them. The theme of this story is to get people to understand that media is not always the best for us and to understand and sympathize with peoples differences like the grandson.
