I know of an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion are the head start organizations that I have worked for. Head start is an early childhood organization financed by the federal government that takes care of low-income families in the United States. in the last five years, Head Start has promoted diversity and inclusion. They do this because they focus on low-income families, minority families, families with children with learning disabilities, and families that do not speak English within the household. They also include and promote the families' education culture and hold events to learn the different languages.
To market, the organization is not easy. Since the grant has specific criteria for families, the marketing size is small. Since the marketing size is relatively small, the families' area is many miles. For example, Yellowstone County borders on the reservation, and we have to be diligent to respect their culture. "Culture refers to the influence of religious, family, educational, and social systems on people, how they live their lives, and the choices they make. Marketing always exists in an environment shaped by culture. Organizations that intend to market products in different countries must be sensitive to the cultural factors at work in their target markets." (Learning, L.) Also, not understanding their culture will prevent them from coming and hostile relations in a small community and hurt the business. People in small towns talk, and word of mouth holds much weight.
The most positive contribution to social change is that Head Start contributes is the environment that kids can learn about other cultures. Regular schooling does not always embrace cultures in the learning environment; however, Head start originations can use the family's culture to educate the students. This does show where all the kids come from, and they can relate to and find connections with the other students. This starts with their marketing strategy and can not be done unless the organization promotes its services to other cultures and areas in Montana.
