I learned about two methods used to analyze the independent variable(s). The first method was the component analysis and the second method was the parametric analysis. Both of these methods allow the behavior analyst to study the independent variable in an effort to provide the least intrusive yet most effective treatment for increasing or decreasing behaviors.
