I need a discussion post on this, please: Mentoring is an essential aspect of leadership that establishes a coaching relationship between highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced individuals and those who lack such experience and skills (Gong & Li., 2021). My current manager is a valued mentor, as she has helped me grow and develop as a nurse leader over the past few years. Her leadership style varies depending on the situation; however, she utilizes servant leadership most often. She genuinely cares about the well-being of her staff and fosters a culture of respect for one another. Additionally, she guides selflessly and empowers others to reach their full potential, exhibiting transformational leadership characteristics. Her authenticity and genuine kindness are what drew me to her as a mentor. We have grown especially close over these past few years, and I have learned a vast amount from her 20 years of experience. Having an effective mentorship is crucial to both the leader and mentee. By serving as a positive role model and providing both psychological and career support, mentors help their mentees realize their highest potential (Gong & Li, 2021). Mentoring also enables mentors to gain valuable transformational leadership skills and enhance their own knowledge base, thereby enhancing their ability to effectively mentor others and transform their teams to reach their full potential.
