PAPER: ACCT. 525 SUMMER II 2016
Marcus Lemonis is a successful businessman and as a result is now a multi-millionaire. He now stars in the reality show ?The Profit?. Although this is a reality show, and undoubtedly the content is managed in a way to create an interesting show, it does present real life business situations. He specializes in going into businesses which are experiencing problems, normally buying a share of the business, and under his management, turning the business around. He has invested millions of dollars in such a way in many businesses. His philosophy is that a profitable business depends upon success in three areas: people, product and process.
REQUIRED: Choose any episode of the show which first screened between October 2, 2015 and February 2, 2016 and describe how he used concepts and principles contained in your textbook to turn the business around. If he eventually decided not to invest in a business, provide the same details of his analysis and recommendations for that business. You CANNOT use the Standard Burger episode because it is a follow up episode.
DUE: Friday, August 5. Submit your paper in a word document, as an attachment, to the dropbox. Put your surname in the file name and on each page of your paper.
PAPER SIZE: 2 double-spaced typewritten pages, with title page and sources page (extra). Do not include an abstract. Use 12 font and 1 inch margins.
PLEASE NOTE: For those in the habit of ignoring, or going against, instructions, please make sure your best material is on the first two pages because that is all I will be assessing. There will be an automatic 10 point deduction for any student who does not follow all of the requirements outlined on this page.
TURNITIN: When you submit your paper to the dropbox it will be processed through Turnitin. You will not see the results: only I will. I am sure this warning is not necessary, but just in case anyone has a temporary lapse of judgement and breaches the AHP, please be aware that this is exactly the same topic the students had during the first Summer session. Any use of prior submitted material will ?light you up like the 4th of July? in the Turnitin system and consequently earn you a zero score. Submitting your own work in your own words will result in a satisfactory Turnitin rating.
