Which assignments were the most thought-provoking for you? Why? Week 2's assignment involves interviewing people around me to learn about their impressions of me. On the first day of class, when the professor asked us to introduce ourselves and talk about our expectations for the course, I mentioned that I frequently had conflicts with people around me and hoped that the course would help me comprehend others' viewpoints and increase my emotional intelligence. The Week 2 Discussion Question assignment obviously helped me in achieving this goal. Until now, I believed that everything I did was correct and that the jobs I completed were the most arduous. I always took it for expected that people were going to accept me. In summary, I discovered I was an arrogant person who made no effort to understand people out of selfishness and ignored anything that wasn't in accordance with my views. This task made me aware of my flaws and encouraged me to be more cautious in future communications with people. I've grown to believe that if I approach the world's varied perspectives with an open heart and an inclusive mindset, my values will broaden and more creative outcomes will develop. I used to be an extremely stubborn person, but this lesson taught me that there are people with various ideals, and that by working with them, I can create incredible synergy. It got me thinking about how I can help and motivate them as a team leader and colleague to improve their engagement. The IDEO shopping cart, which focuses on creativity, was the most exciting element of the lesson for me. I am a pretty inflexible person who used to be extremely selfish, but I could realize that the inclusive work atmosphere allowed people to broaden one's thinking and generate new ideas. I also learned to enjoy brainstorming and to respect others by openly presenting and elaborating on each other's ideas without being concerned about what others thought. In summary, I used to believe that I was always correct and that working alone was more effective and quicker. However, this lesson taught me that it is more necessary to listen to other opinions and collaborate in order to attain greater achievement. My next class is Managerial Economics. This course offers a thorough understanding of the economic tools and methods needed to make decisions. According to the syllabus, there will be assignments in which we will express perspectives based on real-world business scenarios, talk with classmates, and develop a project for effective and efficient decision making. In our class, we obtained how to boost employee engagement and motivation in businesses, as well as how to collaborate and create creativity. We also got time to reflect on how to foster a positive workplace culture. I feel that by applying the skills we acquired in class to the team project with other students, I will be able to use them to resolve problems that may develop during collaboration with coworkers. I am also very excited about the opportunity to motivate my friends who have low participation rates.
