The construction started on 1 July 2013 . The new plant is expected to be used for 10 years The costs incurred for the construction of the plant are as follows: The company decided to provide the depreciation on the building at 10% per annum on cost based on a yearly basis. The plant was completed on 30 June 2014. SunTop Sdn Bhd closes its books on 30 June each year. Required: A: 1. Identity whether new constructed plant is asset of SunTop Sdn Bhd. (3 marks) 2. Explain whether the plant is item of property, plant and equipment in accordance with MFRS116 Property, Plant and Equipment. (4 marks) 3. Explain the components of initial cost of plant to be recognized in the Statement of Financial Position. (4 marks) 4. Compute the initial cost of the plant. (4 marks) 5. Calculate the depreciation expense for the plant for the year ended 30 June 2015. ( 2 marks) B: 1. SunTop Sdn Bhd bought a shop building at a cost of RM 2,400,000, 8 years ago. The shop building was depreciated using straight line method and depreciation was charge at RM 200,000 per year. On 30 June 2015, company's shop building was revalued at RM1,600,000.
