I found the nature of decision-making quite interesting especially since decision-making is a key when it comes to the workplace. I was intrigued by how many factors are included when it comes to making certain decisions. An example in the textbook states that for a manager looking for a new location would have to factor in the land cost, access to transportation, local labor force, property tax rates, and many more. So one can assume the people making these decisions have lots more to worry about considering how in-depth their decisions will go. However, problem-solving helps make the issue of decision-making easier since some of the factors in decision-making can simply be dealt with by using logic. It was also helpful to know that a decision maker's actions are guided by a goal that likely influences their actions including the decisions being made.

I have not been in this position though I can imagine many higher-up positions are bombarded with these types of decisions. It would likely be stressful making these decisions as you want to try your best to make the best possible decision. This explains why those who are making these important decisions usually have a higher salary (e.g. managers, executives, etc...) than those who are not. I would find it quite hectic to figure out a goal, obtain the necessary information, weigh the options, and choose which is best. If I were making decisions for an organization I would need proper time to go in-depth in how my decision will affect the company in the long run. Sometimes there are time restraints (time also being a factor) that can cause stress affecting problem-solving and decisions being made. Though with experience I would assume that over time these decisions would become easier to make based on previous decisions and overall experience.
