1. Bandura's Bobo doll experiment states that some children who were exposed to violent media were negatively influenced by said media and acted more violent against the doll. The violent media in question was an adult model acting violently towards a bobo doll. This example of violence is mostly different compared to the modern types of violent media seen today on platforms like video games or movies, so the experiment feels fairly out of date. Bandura's experiment is a better indicator of how domestic violence can affect a child's growth, a child exposed to domestic violence will exhibit more violent tendencies than ones who aren't. Despite the datedness, it does show that children exhibit observational learning and learn how to act more violent. This fact alone does show that parents should monitor what media their children are consuming to a certain extent. Parents should, in my opinion, let their kids explore different types of media while keeping a keen eye as for them not to steer towards a dangerous path.

2. During a child's development, there are many external factors that influence their behavior. The media being one of them, it has been debated for years just how much children should be exposed to through television. As we know from observational learning, children can acquire skills and behaviors through observing them, such as watching them on television. The media plays a significant role in the development of violent behavior because children may learn violent behavior by watching it through the media. If a television show or media program is displaying violent behavior for a developing child to observe, there is a chance that the child will begin to demonstrate that violent behavior. We see this through Bandura's Bobo doll experiment, as the child began to display aggressive behaviors after watching the adult model engage in aggressive behaviors (Santrock 238). Parents should definitely closely monitor the types of shows that are available to their children. Developing children who are learning new skills and behavior through observation should not be watching very violent things, as they can adopt those violent behaviors. Parents should focus on making sure that their children are watching non-violent and positive media.
