The first example that I chose is marriage equality. In the case Hisquierdo v. Hisquierdo the Supreme Court ruled that the whole subject of domestic relations laws belong to the state and not laws that are created by the United States, therefore marriage equality issomething that differs from state to state.

For the second example I chose the gun laws. Gun laws fall under thefederal government because the second amendment is a federal law, however there has been a growing concern that ourgovernment is going to try and take ourguns away, so states have begun passing laws to help protectthemselves from these changes. Some of these new laws include a law passed by Idaho that states thatno future gun measures can beenforcedin their state. Another law was passed by Kansas stating that federal gun regulations do not apply to any guns that are manufactured in the state.
