Strategic human resource management is a way to ensure that the organization's human resources are used in a way that supports the organization's goals (Haan, 2023). By utilizing the process, businesses can more effectively manage employee performance and development, as well as create programs and policies that support the company's overall strategy. An important part of strategic human resource management is having a comprehensive understanding of an organization's business goals. Once this is achieved, programs and policies can be developed to support the goals. While these programs and policies ought to be tailored to an organization's specific goals and employee needs, common examples include performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations (Haan, 2023). It is important to incorporate strategic human resource management as it optimizes the process of achieving organizational goals. By aligning human resource programs and policies with an organization's business strategy, strategic human resource management can help organizations improve employee performance, develop the workforce, and create a positive work environment (Haan, 2023). This process can also help organizations save money by reducing turnover and improving productivity.
