In this case, one would have to control the scheduling by arranging updates for the beginning middle and end of each step, therefore, having everyone consulting the project manager before a step starts and during the step, throughout the whole project. This will create a reliable source of communication that assists in controlling the schedule. This will allow the project manager to evaluate risks when they occur and respond to them promptly. This will also allow the project manager to attempt schedule compression if the schedule is falling behind. This is the best course of action because it will permit the team to address this risk as well as others as they occur. The project manager will be able to make changes, adjustments, and revisions to the schedule quickly, which will allow them time to determine whether there is a need to involve the stakeholders regarding more time and resources.
