I need help understanding this math problem, I believe I should use the combination formula. But I don't understand, would we use 8 as a set or 5 as a set and then 3 as the subset of five or 5 as a subset or 8? I'm confused, please tell me how to work out this problem with the method and answer so I can reproduce it for other problems.

A restaurant manager is listing 8 items on a menu. Of these menu items, 5 are appetizers and 3 are main courses. All of the appetizers will be listed before all of the main courses. In how many ways can the restaurant manager list the items?
