I need help with an assignment in my immigration law class

Anand is a Pakistani citizen who arrived on a B-2 visa and has overstayed his permission to remain in the United States. He married Begum two years after his arrival in the country. This is his first marriage and her second. She has two young children from her prior marriage. She is a U.S. citizen. Before the couple could file a relative petition for the benefit of Anand, Begum died suddenly.
