My topic is \"Target Credit Card Hack\" Current Events Papers: You will select a three current event fraud related topics you would like to study. Topics will be approved by your professor and articles referenced must have been published within the past 18 months. Each paper will be two to three pages in length. Each will have a summary which states the main issues of the case and the key facts; a body which discusses the relevance of the case to the industry and fraud; and a summary which expresses your opinion about the case and the issues involved. Current Event Papers Students have been asked to select a current event fraud related topic s/he would like to study this semester and ask the professor for permission in the discussions area. Students will be required to submit 3 (three) current event papers during this course, due in Weeks 4, 7, and 8. Please work in advance of these due dates and request permission for your topics at least two weeks before the actual paper is due. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS! Below are some criteria to help you in writing your current event papers. Current Event Paper - 4 pages double-spaced (MINIMUM) - Do not exceed 6 pages The current event paper is a comprehensive examination of the topic you have selected as the subject of your paper. Points WILL be deducted for problems with spelling, punctuation and grammar. The professor will approve the topics to ensure their relevance in the field of study. NOTE ON OUTSIDE REFERENCES: It is imperative that you use outside references in your research paper. Be sure that you cite your sources properly and fully. If you do not have at least 2 references for your paper, you did not fully research the topic or you incorrectly cited information and may be plagiarizing. The purpose of the assignment is for you to develop your understanding and opinions on the research, not to regurgitate someone else's. EXAMPLE CURRENT EVENTS TOPICS - SELECT FRAUD TOPIC You are restricted to presenting your ideas within the page limitations (exclusive of any charts, pictures, tables, figures, diagrams, endnotes, and bibliographies). With this limitation in mind, each student must develop their topic to a degree that it is demonstrated that they have mastered the technical as well as practical aspects of the topic.
