I am offered to work from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and work from office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  1. What is the probability of me working from home vs working from the office?
  2. My manager works from Office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. What is the probability of meeting my manager in person at the office?

Solution:

  1. S = {Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday}

Working from Home A = {Monday, Wednesday, Friday}

Working from Office B = {Tuesday, Thursday}

P(A) = P(Monday)+P(Wednesday)+P(Friday)

= 3/5 = 0.6

P(B) = P(Tuesday)+P(Thursday)

= 2/5 = 0.4
