1. Open the SierrraPacificCC-05 workbook. Click the Enable Editing button if necessary. 2. Save the workbook as Excel 5-2. 3. Group and format the worksheets. a. Click the 2013-14 worksheet tab. b. Hold down the Shift key and click the 2015-16 worksheet tab to select all the sheets. c. Right-click the column F heading and choose Delete. d. Select cells B8:F8 and click the AutoSum button [Home tab, Editing group]. e. Select cells A1:F2 and apply Outside Borders. f. Click cell A1. g. Right-click the 2013-14 worksheet tab and choose Ungroup Sheets. Save the workbook. 4. Create a new, blank workbook and save it as [your initials] Excel 5-2A. 5. Click the Arrange All button [View tab, Window group]. Choose Vertical and click OK. 6. Copy a worksheet to another workbook. a. Right-click the 2013-14 worksheet tab in [your initials] Excel 5-2. b. Choose Move or Copy. c. In the To book list, click the arrow and choose as [your initials] Excel 5-2A. d. Click to place a check mark for Create a copy (Figure 5-54). e. Click OK. A copy of the worksheet is placed in the new workbook. 7. Prepare the dependent workbook. a. In [your initials] Excel 5-2A, edit the label in cell A2 to read Academic Years 2013-2016. b. Select and delete the contents of cells B4:E7. c. Rename the 2013-2014 tab in [your initials] Excel 5-2A as 2013-2016. d. Delete Sheet1. e. Apply Dark Red fill to cells A3:F3 and A4:A7. Click cell B4 on the 2014-15 sheet tab in [your initials] Excel 5-2. e. Type +, and click cell B4 on the 2015-16 sheet tab in [your initials] Excel 5-2 (Figure 5-55). 5-55 External reference formula with absolute references f. Press Enter. The formula is placed in the [your initials] Excel 5-2A workbook with absolute references. g. Maximize the [your initials] Excel 5-2A workbook and click cell B4. E5-286 9. Press Enter. e. Copy the formula in cell B4 to cells B5:B7 without fill formatting. Copy the formula to cells C4:E7. f. Select the [your initials] Excel 5-2 workbook. Group worksheets 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16. Select B5:F7 and apply Comma formatting without decimal places. Ungroup the sheets. g. Switch to [your initials] Excel 5-2A. Click cell B4. 5-56 External reference formula edited to use relative references 10. Insert a screenshot in a workbook. a. Click the Show Formulas button on the Formulas tab [Formula Auditing group]. You will take a screenshot of the formulas for placement in the source workbook. AutoFit the columns as needed. b. From the Windows Taskbar, switch to [your initials] Excel 5-2. All formulas are removed, but the cells display the values. Click Close. g. Select B5:F7 and apply Comma formatting without decimal places. 13. Insert a hyperlink. a. Right-click cell A10 on the 2013-2016 sheet tab. b. Choose Hyperlink from the context-sensitive menu. c. Click Existing File or Web Page in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. d. In the Look in list, select [your initials] Excel 5-2. Navigate to the appropriate folder if necessary by clicking the drop-down arrow and choosing the folder name. e. Select the default text in the Text to display box, and type Open the source workbook. You will use the default ScreenTip (Figure 5-59). 5-59 Hyperlink to open another workbook f.
