Question 1 Suppose that production in a two sector economy is characterized by the following input-output matrix a _1 A: 15 3 E 13 3 '15 where the rst sector is the electronics goods sector and second is all other goods. The consumers in the economy demand 15 of electronics goods and 48 of all other goods. The question in these planned economies is how much should they produce in order to satisfy consumer demand. Denote this as a column vector X. a) To solve this. the rst step is to account for all of the demand. There is the demand by the consumers which we can denote by a column vector D, and then there is the input requirement for producing X. Thus. the total demanded in terms of our notation is Click for List v . D) And this has to equal the amount produced. Thus. equating supply and demand we find Click for List v . c) Now we isolate X and solve the matrix equation. In this economy, how much of all other goods will they need to produce in equilibrium? Please express your answer as a fraction rather than a decimal
