I need some help writing a paper!

YOUR PAPER MUST BE CLEARLY DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING 8 SECTIONS. Do not submit a paper where the arguments are all jumbled together or where I have to search for the answers!

Section 1 - Identify what statute or Constitutional provision, treaty, regulation, or court case you are writing about. Basically what does the law provide that concerns you. One point.

Section 2 - Briefly summarize what business or business issue is impacted by this law. One point.

Section 3 - Describe in what way (how) the law impacts the business. Be specific and not general. "Positively" or "negatively" is not specific. Describe the impact. 2 points.

Section 4 - Summarize the facts pertinent to your issue/matter/dispute. Basically, what is actually going on that gives rise to this issue. If it is a court case, what is the court's ruling? State whether you are pro (in favor of) or con (against) this law/ruling. Take a stand. A little of this and a little of that will be written down. THIS IS A SUMMARY OF YOUR "THESIS." One point.

Sections 5, 6 and 7 - This is your argument. You must set out three (3) arguments in support of your conclusion, one clear argument per section. Start each section with one sentence stating your argument in that section. In your argument, I am not interested in facts without a citation, or opinion unless it is both supported by facts and a citation to a presumably informed and authoritative source. The precise form of a citation is not important, but it has to be specific: "Wall St Journal" or "NPR" or "CBS News" is not adequate. The citation must indicate who wrote or said it, when and where and give some clue as to the credibility of the authority. If it is an article or study or statistics, what is the title and when and where was it published - whether on paper or on the Internet makes no difference (I suspect most of your research will be done via the Internet). You can "cluster" the citations at the end of the section, you don't have to cite every little phrase. Somewhere in your arguments, you must cite a total at least three different credible sources. The same authority can be cited in more than one argument, so long as you have at least 3 in total. 2 points each section, total 6 points.

Section 8 - What does this matter show about the legal environment of business? 2 points.

One or two points may be added for above average or exceptional work. Total possible, 15 points.

Try to apply the course concepts to your work where you can. This is not a group project: all papers must be your own work and only your own work, even if several of you may be writing about the same subject. It is neither acceptable to just copy material from other sources into your argument, nor to paraphrase statements from other sources. I want to know what YOU think and WHY.
