A superheated vapor with a temperature of 299C inters a pipe that has inner and outer diameters of 4 cm and 5 cm, respectively. The pipe having thermal conductivity of 78 W/mC is covered with an insulation with a thickness of 2.5- cm-thick and thermal conductivity of 0.026 W/m C. Heat is lost to the environment naturally in which the surrounding temperature is 10C with a convection heat transfer coefficient of 15 W/m2.C. If the convection heat transfer coefficient inside the pipe to be 56 W/m2 C, (a) find the rate of heat loss from the vapor to the surrounding if the length of the pipe is 10 m. Also, (b) estimate the temperature of the outer surface of the insulation, and (c) the temperature of the inner and outer surface of the pipe.
