There was great rejoicing in Midsask that night where all the players were wined and dined by its good citizens. Scate was named the Most Valuable Player and the recipient of the coveted "Cat Cup" emblematic of the most fair and gentlemanly player. The Mice had a very different view and complained to the league officials and police. The Mice also consulted with their lawyers. The Rats countered by claiming "hockey is tough sport, and everyone knows the legal principle of "volens" applies." Moles slowly recovered from his concussion notwithstands a three month stay in the hospital. It would have been only a one month stay in the hospital had Moles not had a metal plate in his scalp from a previous injury.
