According to Breevaart and Bakker (2018), contemporary managerial roles involve facilitating and coaching employees to cultivate a culture of innovation and learning and empowering individuals to exercise initiative and decision-making abilities.

A significant shift in management practises involves acknowledging the influence of individual personality, perceptions, and values on workplace performance and motivation. There is a growing trend among managers to adopt a person-centred approach, which involves recognising the distinctiveness of each individual and customising their management strategies accordingly.
