I work in healthcare so there are many times it's been difficult to balance my professional and personal responsibilities. I initially worked in our appointment call center. This was the place where all appointments for our members were scheduled for the Georgia region. It was a high-volume call center and stressful. We were constantly taking calls and scheduling appointments for members but when it came to employees needing time off, we were denied. As a company our job was to ensure members got the appointment they needed for their health and we as employees our health and well being was lacking. This created challenges with high turnover, call outs, and a stressful work environment. I envisioned that this would become my fate if I didn't work to get hired in a different department within the company. So, I worked hard and got hired in another department less stressful and gave a better work life balance.

It is employer's responsibility to help create or help their employees achieve a work-life balance. If you create a happy work environment for your employees, you get the best out of them. Having great employee benefits lets the employee know you want the best for them in their life not only at the work. Providing healthcare insurance, education, time-off, wellness, employee perks, gym membership, and an overall labor and management partnership that creates a family /community environment.
