I ONLY WANT PART E ANSWERED THANK YOU

A cross-channel ferry company gains much of its profit by sales of duty-free goods on board ship. The managing director believes that different types of passenger spend different amounts of money on duty-free goods. He has therefore organised the collection of data on duty-free sales and numbers of passengers travelling using each of the five different types of ticket for 86 daytime journeys from Doulogne to Bover. The variables are:

Sales Expenditure on duty-free goods ()

Foot No. of adults on foot

Car No. of adults in cars

Coach No. of adults on coaches

Special No. of adults on 'special deal' tickets

Children Total no. of children.

  1. a) Before looking at any of the SPSS output associated with this problem, suggest simple relationships that MIGHT exist between Sales and each of the other 5 variables. (Five possible relationships are needed here).

(4 marks)

  1. b) Before looking at any of the SPSS output associated with this problem, suggest a simple relationship that MIGHT exist between any two of the five explanatory variables on which data has been collected. (One possible relationship is needed here).

  1. c) To what extent do the scatterplots, labelled SCATTERPLOTS at the end of the question, support your ideas in parts (a) and (b)? Are there any extra relationships that the scatterplots suggest?

  1. d) To what extent do the correlations, labelled CORRELATIONS at the end of the question, support your ideas in parts (a) and (b)?

  1. e) The results of running a STEPWISE regression analysis in SPSS are shown labelled STEPWISE at the end of the question. State clearly the regression model that this analysis is recommending, including details of the error term. For each of the explanatory variables included in the recommended model, explain its presence in the light of your answers to parts (a) to (d).
