I personally have noticed the norm of marriage occurring at the mid-range age group from 25-32. I believe this range is the perfect age to get married. One is able to have settled in, possibly invest in buying a home and has a decent and stable job. "Today, the average first-time groomLinks to an external site. is 30, and the bride is 28." (De Vise, 2023). But studies do show that Americans are holding off a bit longer than usual when it comes to getting married. "Young adults have come to view marriage as a capstone event: Couples used to marry and build a life together. Now, they build the life first." (De Vise, 2023). If I may add, I do hear this statement of "building the life first." As I had mentioned earlier, they want to settle in and secure themselves as stable before tying the knot. The cost and expenses I believe is the main, most important aspect when planning a wedding. I sure know from the time I got married to what a per plate is now a days has definitely hit a hike. Between the economy and inflation
