I realize that there are many law enforcement agencies in place to minimize the importation of illegal drugs. However, are the sanctions strict enough for those convicted of smuggling drugs across America's borders? Why or why not? Also, should those law enforcement agents who get caught "looking the other way" be sentenced with severe sentences? Why or why not? This illegal behavior has got to stop. Please provide resources/references to support the ideas.
