I received a 65% on study unit one. I felt very confident going into the diagnostic quiz but was surprised to learn that there were many subunits I was not prepared for. My best subunit was 1.5, special purpose frameworks, and my worst subunit was 1.1, balance sheet. This surprised me because I work within the balance sheet in my current position all day. This is just a reminder that I have much to learn. For subunit two, I received a great score of 95%. I am not sure if this was luck or knowledge. I am most unfamiliar with subunit 2.1, foreign currency transaction gains and losses. I might have a leg up in this study unit because I deal with revenue a lot, specifically with customer contracts. My plan for the remainder of the week is to utilize the flashcards within Gleim to drive the ideas home. My last class, structured precisely like this one, was challenging, but listening to YouTube videos on my way to work helped reinforce challenging accounting concepts that I might have missed. Since that worked well for me in my last course, I plan to use the same study patterns in this course. One other helpful tool was handwritten notes. I already feel more confident in my abilities in this class than in my last one.
