Investigations have been conducted after the shocking collapse of the Rana Plaza ,they found out that the building owner , Sohel Rana , paid no attention to the construction codes and illegally constructed the upper floors which originally were six -story buildings .lrregularities in the construction of the factory were wrongly approved by the city mayor (Ethics Unwrapped ,2021). Other factors that led to this tragic incident were that Rana Plaza was built and located on drained swampy land, the materials used during the construction of the building were extremely poor quality and heavy machinery operates in the factory and its vibration (The Guardian ,2013 ). During the inspection of an engineer a day before Rana Plaza collapse , it was determined unsafe because of the big cracks on walls of the building . But , the factory owners, still, required and forced workers to go back to the factory the following day (Ethics Unwrapped ,2021 ). The collapse of Rana Plaza was not the first tragic incident in Bangladesh About five months earlier another disaster to a garment factory, Tazreen Fashion, at least 112 laborers were trapped and died inside of the burning manufactory [International Labour Organization , 2021 ). These catastrophes in Bangladesh call the attention of not just the owners of the factories but the government as well. After these tragedies, two agreements were passed and signed the Accord on the Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh and the Alliance of Bangladesh Worker Safety - between global retailers and brand and trade unions (Westerman, 2017)
