I think environmental (either politically charged or otherwise) pressure can be the hardest on an organization. Think of the USPS and their entire fleet of vehicles. The first initial investment into that project is costing around 480-500 million dollars. That's for 50,000 to 165,000 vehicles. The entire fleet is over 230,000. Think of that mounted pressure to switch out that many vehicles within a 10 year span. America has done this type of work before. If an organization fails to meet the standards that were recently imposed or pressured onto the company then there might be some fines, slap on the hands, and a firing or two. With environmental it can get costly, both in image and in finances. Fines, fees, tax increases, and so much more can happen if environmental rulings/pressures are not meet by companies. Both are stressful and can cause a lot of strife for employees and managers but environmental just has that daunting feeling of impending doom if you don't change that is. What are your thoughts?
