I think it is possible that following Holland's theory could result in achieving Flow regularly at work. If you are suited to the work and the company environment is complementary to your personality it would facilitate Flow. I think Super's Stages would influence Flow and work only at the middle-age Establishment and Exploration stages where you are learning new skills and identifying new tasks. Most of the other stages seem to be about figuring out what you want to do and how to fit in, or in late adulthood, slowing down and worrying less about work and more about doing the things you enjoy. Emotional Intelligence can affect career choice, stages of career, and Flow because choosing a career that doesn't fit your EI will make it more difficult to be part of the team. People with lower EI might not control emotions well or be able to deal with the emotions of others, so they would look for a career that is more solitary. People with higher EI might enjoy working with many people and would choose careers with a more social aspect. As younger workers are starting a career, it is important to fit in with their co-workers
