I was able to balance the yardstick at a distance of 18 inches from both the ends. So 18 inches point in the yardstick is its center of gravity where an object is perfectly balanced Now I hung 50 grams mass on one end and 20 grams mass on another end of the yardstick. I try to balance it at 18 inches point which was the center of gravity before. However, I cannot balance it at this point anymore since the center of gravity has changed after hanging the masses. 5.
