I used Washington HealthPlanFinder to compare various plans based on my location, age, and income in Washington state. I was provided 23 options from 4 insurance providers. The monthly premiums ranged from $0 to $367/month and the deductibles from $600 to 8500 per month. In general, the lower the premium the higher the deductible. I appreciated that I could sort the plans based on these criteria. I compared some of the different Kaiser-Permanente plans more closely. KP is an HMO and seems to offer a variety of plans from Health Savings Plans to Bronze, Silver, and Gold Flex plans. No out-of-network providers or services are covered. Under the KP HSA plan, the beneficiary is required to pay up to the full deductible for visits and prescriptions, after which they are required to pay 40% of care and drugs. A 40% cost sharing seems like it could end up being quite expensive if a beneficiary or their family were in need of ongoing medical care or prescriptions. The flex plans have co-pays of between $20-100 for a specified number of primary care or specialized care visits and most seem to have a set copay of $25-32 for generic medications. I liked
