This project will be unique for each group, focusing on their interests and applying numerical methods such
as root finding, numerical integration, numerical differentiation, and numerical solving of ordinary
differential equations (ODEs) and the topics that are not covered in the lectures to address specific
engineering challenges.
1. Problem Identification:
Choose a problem relevant to your field of study or any field of interest. The problem should involve
quantitative analysis and have real-world implications. Clearly define the problem and its significance in
the chosen engineering domain.
2. Data Gathering:
Collect or identify a dataset related to the chosen problem. This dataset should be of sufficient size and
quality to allow for meaningful numerical analysis. Explain how the data was obtained and its relevance to
the problem.
3. Numerical Methods Application:
Select at least two numerical methods covered in the course. Explain the theoretical background and
assumptions of each method. Apply the selected numerical methods to the dataset to address and solve the
identified problem.
