I wanted to return to the questions that I began the Privacy unit with earlier this week.I would love to hear your thoughts about the following:

1) Do you think anything is really private anymore?

2) Should the courts intervene and provide a remedy for individuals who feel as if their privacy has been invaded?

3: Privacy Tort: Intrusion o Defined: Intentionally interfering with another person's solitude or meddling in a person's private affairs. The tactics must offend a reasonable person (person of ordina sensibilities) o P must also have a reasonabl expectation of privacy. a Defense = Consent OF HIS PERSONAL SPACE!4: Privacy Tort: Private Facts o Defined: publishing truthful, intimate, private information that is not of legitimate public concern (even if true) o The publication must be highly offensive to a reasonable person a The publication must be widely disseminatedPrivate Facts - Intimate Facts o Intimate facts = what you would not want to community to know a Examples: info about your finances, health, family issues o A person can make info public, but telling a few close friends/family members is still private
