I was given cholesterol & fat levels before & after a nutrition education program. I was also given the sample's gender & age. This is the question I am confused about:

1. Do males differ from females in the amount of reduction for each of your assigned measures (cholesterol level & fat intake) .

Would I utilize a t-test of two means? If so-- how do I do that? and how do I check to see if the variances are equal or unequal?
