Question
I would define artificial intelligence as a technology that improves a complex process without having a human being there. (For the most part at least)
I would define artificial intelligence as a technology that improves a complex process without having a human being there. (For the most part at least) AI is also a type of technology that “learns” more with more human usage and gets better or more accurate. It is something that is already used a lot in most people’s daily lives and will only be used more frequently as technology gets better.
Google maps and apple maps are great examples of one of the most used AIs. It has improved traveling a thousandfold. I couldn’t even imagine traveling with a paper map, especially while driving alone on a 13-hour road trip. With the touch of a button, my phone is telling me the fastest way to travel, the time it takes, speed traps in my area, if where I’m going is closed or open, and traffic jams. Plus, it will redirect if needed.
One of my other favorite Ais is chatbots but specifically chatbots that are on bank apps. For example, I needed to get a money order a few weeks ago to purchase a van. It was the first time I had purchased a money order, plus it was a large amount, and my bank didn’t approve the transaction when I went to swipe my card. I went onto the app and within 2 minutes of using the chatbot I had raised my spending limit that day to what I needed it to be. It was crazy to me because I’m used to calling and waiting on hold for 45 minutes, only to sometimes figure out the issue.
Do I think that there is a risk of AI taking over people’s jobs? No, I don’t. This is because I think that the world is always adapting and changing. Technology is even more so. By the time that technology is “taking over someone’s job” that job is obsolete and there are 5 or 10 other jobs created now because of this AI technology being created. This is a common phenomenon that is a part of technology and cultural growth.

I define artificial intelligence as an application that is capable of ingesting information and producing human-like outputs in near-real time.
I agree that AI will drastically change the workplace once it becomes advanced enough, likely in the next 3-5 years. The applications that will eventually become AI are becoming ubiquitous and can be found everywhere form self-driving cars to human-resource management. I believe eventually these systems will become smart enough to be able to drive semis across the country, or use historical data trends to hire the right candidate for a job. This has the potential to lead to major job loss, and I personally do not see the government regulating the use of AI enough to slow job loss or provide job training for the displaced workers. The only thing I could see potentially slowing AI is that someone will have to take responsibility for the actions of AI if it does something wrong. If a self-driving semi causes an accident, I would hope that the trucking company would be held accountable. If an HR AI was hiring candidates that were all from the same demographic due to the data that it ingested (much like Amazon had happen), I would hope that company would have to be held liable for the actions of its AI.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your comments.

The Haitian revolution helped Haiti gain independence in 1783 but weren’t recognized as an independent country until 1862. Haiti was a French country that dealt with sugar and coffee. The French used the Haiti populace as slaves in order to process their products. During the 1760s, they became the most profitable country in the Americas. Because there was so much money being made, the attitude towards Haitians grew worse. Haiti continued to trade with America. After the French revolution, the white population split between revolution and royalist factions, and the mixed race fought for civil rights. The revolt began on August 22, 1791. Americans started to provide support for the white population. During this time, the British as well as the Spanish also became involved. The war became multi sided due to revolt leader, Toussaint L’Ouverture believing that the French government wanted to end slavery.
While President Jefferson agreed with the French, he feared that their war would spread into America. So, he planned to isolate Haiti by cutting off any aid for them. The revolution hit North America in 1793. White French refugees entered the U.S. with their slaves, mainly in the north. During their stay, they wanted to influence the foreign policies, which America didn’t like. So they created the Alien and Sedition act. The refugees wouldn’t be considered citizenship for 14 years, instead of 5 years. These new acts pushed the refugees out of America and they went back to Haiti, when the revolt slowed down. During President Adams’ Presidency, he chose not to aid the whites forces in Haiti due to his stance on being anti-slavery. He provided aid against the French. Although Haiti won the war, Jefferson refused to acknowledge them as independent. While the French acknowledge Haiti’s independence in 1825, America did not until 1862.
One of the reasons for violence was the mistreatment of the Haitian people whether they were free or not. The French took over and created unfair laws for the people. The split the people by class, skin color, and money. Eventually, they reacted by burning down the plantation.

Prior to its revolution, Haiti was St. Domingue. St Domingue was wealthy based on its sugar and coffee plantations that were heavily reliant on its free labor force, slavery. In fact, 90% of the population in Haiti were slaves with the rest of the population being petite blancs (poor whites), blancs (wealthy whites), and grand blancs (ruling class).
The French Revolution occurred and in 1791 The Declaration of the Rights of the Citizen was written. This document was not specific and led the slaves of Haiti, specifically the Mulato slaves to think it applied to them. It would appear as if it was not meant to include the slaves but a slave uprising resulted because of it leading the new French government to back ending slavery. In the process thousands died and many plantations were burnt to the ground.
When Napoleon Bonaparte came to power he did not stand for an independent Haiti or the freed slaves that sought its independence. Napoleon sent his general Charles Leclerc to Haiti to quell the Haitian revolution and bring Haiti back under French control. Brutal and merciless fighting would occur on both sides eventually leading to a victorious and independent Haiti. This blow would end Napoleons ambitions in the Americas and lead to the Louisiana Purchase.
During the early years of the Haitian revolution Spain and Britain backed the slave uprising in an attempt to gain some of the Haitian wealth for themselves. America on the other hand backed the white populace of St. Domingue. America had a trade partnership with St. Domingue as well as their own large slave population. America wanted to preserve their trade relationship as well as prevent the slave uprising to spread to America. France officially ended slavery and the American's found themselves in between a rock and a hard place so they adopted an isolation policy of Haiti.

Political doctrines like liberalism and conservatism have been present for millennia. The core liberal belief is that people should be unrestrained in their pursuit of happiness, whereas the core conservative belief is that people should be held accountable to established social and moral standards. Liberals believe that free markets, democracy, and the preservation of rights are the best ways to enhance individual freedom and advance society. Civil liberties, economic fairness, and social justice are common liberal concerns. Conservatives, on the other hand, tend to prioritize maintaining social order and individual property rights. Conservatives are known to stress the value of keeping things as they are.
These two worldviews have evolved as our culture has progressed. For instance, liberalism has shifted its emphasis from individual rights in the 18th century to social justice and economic equality in the 21st. Similar to how 18th-century conservatism prioritized upholding the status quo and conserving traditional values, modern conservatism now prioritizes safeguarding private property and encouraging individual accountability. Modern culture combines liberal and conservative ideals. The conservative ideas of free markets and individual accountability, for instance, have widespread support. On the other side, liberal principles such as economic equality, social fairness, and civil liberties have widespread support. Furthermore, liberals and conservatives may be found all the way from the left to the right of the political spectrum. This demonstrates the continued importance of both ideas.
The political realities of our planet are always in the news. Learning about liberalism and conservatism is useful because it sheds light on the contrasting perspectives on how government should interact with citizens and businesses. Liberalism's basic tenets are the protection of private property and the restriction of state intervention in the economy. Liberals believed that, in principle, people are not inherently violent and that civilization may one day exist without conflict. When nations want to develop territories onboard, liberals worry about the authority armed forces may have. The liberal global order established in the aftermath of global War II provides the framework for the international system in which we today find ourselves Meiser, J. As a result of a post-war change in how we saw ourselves as unique people, liberalism flourished. People were reluctant to seem to be used as political proxies. There has been a clear ideological change in recent political history, most notably in the United States.
